Our History
Werremeyer has a long, storied history. We’ll just give you the highlights.
Gretchen Floresca’s great-grandfather founded Werremeyer Printing Company in St. Louis more than 100 years ago. Her grandfather inherited the business followed by her father, Art Werremeyer. In 1962, he sold the presses and moved the company into marketing communications and graphic design.
For a long time, Werremeyer was a family affair, with Art at the helm, his wife Jennie manning the phones and doing the books, son Rob servicing accounts and Gretchen performing graphic design duties. Art was a creative and astute businessman, traits he passed along to his children. In 2000, Art turned his successful company over to Gretchen, who became its president and sole owner.
